Attorney-General's Department Australia Native Title Practitioners Panel

The Attorney-General's Department maintains a specialist native title legal professionals panel through the periodic assessment of applications from Australian lawyers with requisite expertise and experience.

Only panel lawyers qualify to provide native title legal services to approved applicants under the Australian Government's native title financial assistance scheme.

Both Oliver Gilkerson and Deanna Cartledge at Gilkerson Legal have been approved panelists for many years.

Local Buy Native Title and Indigenous Law Panel

LocalBuy is a Queensland local government procurement agency established by the Local Government Association of Queensland. It operates for the benefit of Queensland local governments and other government agencies. 

Local governments are able to procure services from panelists on a pre-qualified basis.  Panelists are selected periodically on the basis of expertise, experience and value for money thorough a competitive bid process.

Gilkerson Legal is currently listed on the Native Title and Indigenous Law services legal services panel.

Institute of Public Works Engineers Australia (Queensland Branch)

IPWEAQ is a leading professional body in the Australasian region for engineers involved in public works projects.  The Queensland branch has a wide membership throughout Queensland local governments and Queensland government departments and agencies.  

Gilkerson Legal is a corporate member of IPWEAQ and a contributor to its work in land access and Indigenous law as they relate to public sector infrastructure projects.  

For many years Oliver Gilkerson has delivered the highly regarded training course in Queensland on Native Title and Indigenous Cultural Heritage Compliance for Infrastructure projects.

Indigenous Lawyers Association of Queensland

ILAQ is a legal professional body supporting the work of Indigenous lawyers in Queensland.   It also promotes Indigenous law related initiatives which advance the interests and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People in Queensland.  

Gilkerson Legal is a corporate member of ILAQ and our lawyers are also members.  

Gilkerson Legal supports initiatives of the ILAQ including, at present, a working group for Queensland registered native title bodies corporate looking to build capacity and capability and to promote Indigenous business enterprises.
